Gyokuro, translating from Japanese as “jade dew”, is the highest quality green tea! Have a cup of our Gyokuro Green tea and indulge in its heavenly taste!
Gyokuro Green Tea is the highest quality of shaded green tea. Gyokuro tea leaves are shaded about 2-3 weeks before harvesting. This gives its leaves their fresh green colour. “Gyokuro” translates to “jade dew”, indicating the colour of the pale green infusion.
Due to its exceptional quality and exquisite taste, Gyokuro belongs to the superior “Tencha” teas (the word “Tencha” meaning “Tea from heaven” in Japanese). It is best enjoyed on its own because its delicate flavour, sweetness and especially the “bitter aftertaste” render it too exquisite to be missed!
This superior quality tea should be brewed in water of lower temperature, usually about 60-70 C°.
