Rooibos tea, also known as red bush tea, is actually an infusion rather than a tea. This tea type originates from Western Cape province of South Africa. There are 2 types of Rooibos tea: traditional “red” Rooibos tea, and “Green Rooibos Tea”. The traditional red rooibos tea of tea undergoes oxidation, just like black tea. However, it is completely caffeine-free. Therefore, if you feel like a cup of tea that would be as strong and full-bodied as black tea, but would not like the tea to disrupt your sleep, then you should definitely go for a cup of rooibos tea!

Green Rooibos tea, on the other hand, is more like green tea. It doesn’t undergo oxidation, and is preserved in its natural state.
